Given its location at the
equator, there isn't much temperature variations throughout the year. This
makes Uganda a perfect destination to visit any time of the year. The country
has got two wet seasons and two dry seasons. Each of these seasons has got its
own charm and offers visitors a unique aspect of the natural beauty of Uganda—the
Pearl of Africa. For example, during the dry season, it is easy to spot
wildlife on a game drive because the grass is shorter and the animals gather at
water pools. During the wet season, the environment is greener and smells
fresh. Accommodation is cheaper and tourism destinations are less crowded. Another
important factor in planning your vacation in Uganda is the activities you want
to participate in. Good news is that the wide variety of tourism products
Uganda has to offer can all be spread across the seasons.
However, the best time to visit Uganda
is during the dry season and that is June
to August and December to February.
High season is from June to September
while low season is in March, April,
May, October and November. The low
season coincides with the wet season during which roads and forest trails can
be in poor condition. The best weather can be experienced in the months of
June, June, January and February. These months usually receive little rainfall.
The worst weather is in March, April and May and these coincide with the peak
of wet season. Important to note is that due to climate change, we have
observed a change in weather patterns and so you must come prepared for any eventualities.
