You'll have an early morning pick-up from your hotel then depart for Nanyuki with a brief stop at the Equator line then proceed to Olpejeta where you will arrive at the camp with an en-route game drive. Situated in the foothills of snow-capped Mount Kenya in central Kenya’s Laikipia County, Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a trailblazer in conservation, most famous for protecting the world’s last two northern white rhinos. Check-in at the Camp for lunch. Later in the afternoon visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary with an afternoon game drive at the Conservancy thereafter.
After the morning breakfast at the camp, you will then depart for the Aberdare National Park. Upon arrival check-in at Aberdare Country Lodge for lunch. Later enjoy a joint game drive as you drive to The Ark lodge for dinner and overnight stay. At the lodge you will enjoy game viewing from the hotel deck overlooking a waterhole. This is a great place to spot leopards among other wildlife.
After breakfast, you'll be transferred to the Aberdare Country Club where you will be met by our driver and depart north across the equator to Samburu National Reserve arriving at the camp in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at Ashnil Camp. Samburu is the home of the desert nomads, the Samburu tribe. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive at the park’s reserve to view the wildlife unique to this area of Kenya. You will see the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, elephant, warthog, gerenuk, and if you are lucky, the elusive leopard.
Enjoy a full day in Samburu, with an early morning and late afternoon game drive. Samburu is a beautiful and game abundant park, home to rarely found species such as the Beisa oryx, Grevy’s zebra, blue-necked Somali ostrich and reticulated giraffe. Optional activities include a visit to a local Samburu village, camel riding, guided nature walks and birding.
Depart Samburu Lodge in the morning and drive to the floor of the Rift Valley, to Lake Nakuru National Park making a brief stop at Nyahururu Thomson Falls. Arrive at Flamingo Hill Tented Camp in time for lunch. Then have an afternoon game drive. Besides the pink flamingos which the lake is famous for, there are approx 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. Also, many species of game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild’s giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game.
Depart Lake Nakuru after breakfast and drive further along the floor of the Rift Valley to Maasai Mara National Reserve arriving at Ilkeliani Camp in time for lunch. In the afternoon, have a game drive. Dinner and your overnight stay are at the camp. During the annual migration periods, the Mara is home to almost 2.5 million herbivores together with smaller species. 1.4 million wildebeests, 550,000 gazelles, 200,000 zebras, 62,000 buffalo, 64,000 impalas, 60,000 topis, 7,500 hartebeests, 7,100 giraffes, 3,000 elands and 4,000 elephants. There are also plenty of hippos, rhinos and warthogs. In addition, there are the predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, wild dog and jackal, and many small mammals, reptiles, amphibians and insects. It is truly the greatest collection of animals in the world. You have two days to explore this fabulous reserve starting with an en-route game drive to the camp.
Spend the day in Masai Mara, Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five – lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant. Game drives are flexible, with the option of going out with picnic lunch boxes to spend an entire day in the park. You can choose to have early morning and late afternoon game drives. You will also have the option of visiting a local Masai village (US$40 per person).
Check-out after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi arriving approximately at 1:00 pm. You can have lunch at the Famous Carnivore Restaurant or any local restaurant at an extra cost. Later, be transferred to the airport to check in for your onward flight home. END OF SERVICE.
