Upon your arrival at Entebbe airport, you will clear with the immigrations. After this, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about your 5 Days Safari and then transfer you to the hotel for relaxation and overnight stay. Meal Plan: Dinner
After an early breakfast, your guide will pick you at 7:30 am from your hotel, to begin the drive to Kasese via Fort Portal. Make the first stop over for lunch in Kasese as you enjoy the winding scenery of the foot hills of the great Rwenzori ranges. After lunch, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a two hour Boat cruise along the famous Kazinga channel. The boat cruise provides a relaxed opportunity to see resident hippos, visiting buffaloes, Uganda kobs, elephants, warthogs all lining the banks of Kazinga Channel. Expect to see a variety of bird species as well including flamingos, herons, marabou storks and more besides. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Begin your day with a cup of coffee followed by an early morning game drive. The early morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queens Mile presents the opportunity for visitors to encounter elephants, buffalo, water bucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda Kobs, crater lakes and a variety of birds. You will proceed to drive through the Ishasha Sector; this takes you through the unique western rift valley escarpment. If time allows take on a mini game drive in Ishasha sector – in search of tree climbing lions before proceeding to Bwindi to see the gorillas. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the Park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don'ts while with the gorillas, then after you will be taken to the starting point for tracking your allocated gorilla family in Bwindi Forest. This trek starts at 8:00am and may take from 2-6 hours depending on how far the mountain gorillas have moved into the forest. Once you find the gorillas, you will be allowed that one precious hour to observe the gorillas. Take photos as well as audio and visual recordings. In this dense jungle, expect to see a variety of bird species, other primate species, colorful butterflies and some antelopes. You will then return to the Park headquarters to be awarded a certificate in recognition of your effort toward the conservation of the endangered mountain gorillas. Return to the lodge for relaxation and later go for a village walk to have an insight into the life of the local people living around Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Your journey back to Entebbe from Bwindi becomes more enjoyable just by viewing endless rolling green hills from your car window. In addition, driving past small towns, roadside markets, homesteads, and plantations of various crops adds a true African feel to your journey. You will make a stopover at Igongo Cultural Village in Mbarara for lunch and to explore the life style and culture of the Ankole and Bahima people well known for rearing the endangered long horned cattle. You will make another stopover for lunch at the Uganda Equator markings. Proceed to the airport for your onward flight. Meal plan: Breakfast and lunch. End of service.
