Volcanoes National Park is a national park located in northwestern Rwanda. The park covers 160 km2 (62 sq mi) of rain forest and encompasses five of the eight volcanoes in the Virunga massif, namely Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Gahinga, and Sabinyo. It borders Virunga National Park in DR Congo and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda.
Tracking endangered mountain
gorillas through the mysterious intimacy of the rain forest, alive with the
calls of 200 species of colorful birds and chattering of the rare golden
monkey, is only one of the truly unique experiences in the area. Hiking and visiting Musanze Cave will be an add-on to this great excursion.
